What is Early Intervention?

Early Intervention is a family oriented program that provides families with services and supports families who have children with disabilities or learning delays. An Early Interventionists will visit your child each week in his or her natural setting which may include your home, a familiar place in the community, or day care. Your child's early interventionist will interact with your child each week in ways to help him or her reach his or her developmental goals that have been set by your family.

We provide service coordination to our patients by helping families receive resources such as therapies and other activities to help their child reach their maximum potential.  This service ensures that both the family and the child's rights are protected and is available to the child for the entire time that he or she receives early intervention services.
Therapy Services:
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Behavioral Services
- Feeding Therapy
- Autism Services
- Genetic Testing
- Help with applying for governmental programs such as Medicaid, Social Security, and childcare through ABC
- Referral to community-based support groups

How do I refer my child for Early Intervention services with Beyond The Stars Early Intervention?

If you child is between the ages of zero and three years old, they must be given an assessment in order to gain entry into the BabyNet program and receive Early Intervention services. If your child is between ages three and six years old, they may qualify through SC Disabilities and Special Needs. Anyone can refer a child at anytime. Who may need Early Intervention?

Your child may qualify for Early Intervention if they...
- Have a genetic condition or an illness
- Were born premature
- Have delays in physical development or speech
- Have difficulty with hearing or vision
- Present with behavioral issues or getting along with others
