My name is Wendy Cox, and I graduated from Francis Marion University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I began my career teaching third grade at Walker Gamble Elementary School before stepping away from the classroom to focus on my growing family after the birth of our first child.
When our oldest child was two years old, I founded Doodle Buzz Academy, a licensed child care center and South Carolina First Steps 4K provider. For 16 years, I proudly owned and operated Doodle Buzz Academy, serving children and families in our community with a strong commitment to early childhood education.
After the birth of our youngest son, Eli, who was born with Down syndrome, my passion for early intervention grew in a deeply personal way. Through Eli’s journey and the incredible support of his early interventionist, I witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact early intervention services can have on children and families. I also recognized the tremendous need for these services in the area where I live.
From that inspiration, Beyond The Stars Early Intervention was born. My mission is to help children and families realize that abilities are limitless and that every child — including those with developmental delays and special needs — has the potential to thrive and reach beyond the stars.
Today, I live in Lake City with my husband, Neil Cox, and our nine children.
We strive to provide families with the best
resources to ensure that their child is meeting his or her developmental milestones.
